Foundation Solutions for Offshore Wind Turbines
Fugro and the Graduate School at the University of Wisconsin
- Madison are looking for a qualified individual to perform research
related to foundation solutions for offshore wind turbines. The
research will combine experimental and theoretical studies of
offshore wind turbine foundation performance, specifically
addressing the influence of foundation configuration, installation,
soil/rock type, water depth, long term cyclic loading, redundancy,
and ageing effects.

Who We Are
Fugro Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia is the eastern U.S. operating company

Fugro Atlantic is
currently conducting the initial $5
million site investigation and preliminary geotechnical design phases of
the Craney
Island Eastward Expansion project. As the lead geotechnical engineer for
the Craney Island project, Fugro is conducting marine geotechnical site
investigations and engineering studies for the Eastward Expansion of the
Craney Island Dredge Material Management Area (CIDMMA) and the Craney
Island Marine Terminal (CIMT) project in Portsmouth, Virginia.
The Craney Island Eastward Expansion project is being
jointly developed by the Virginia Port Authority and the United States
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The purpose of the project is to
add dredge disposal capacity to the USACE-operated CIDMMA and to develop
the CIMT for the Port Authority.
